PROGRAMME POP UP! Contemporary art in urban spaces 26 June/5 September 2010 3rd Edition Ancona
The third edition of the POP UP! Festival transforms the Port of Ancona with its wharfs, historical and industrial buildings, people and crafts, into a unique theatre of events, where contemporary art, as protagonist and guide, arouses the senses, spirit and mind. Happenings, installation, paintings on walls and fishing boats, previews of art books, urban videoart and photopoetry, art construction site, gastronomic events, live music, follow each other from June to September, creating an essential basis for discovering the city, its places and actors.

A party totally dedicated to contemporary art and the fishing world, an odd combination, noteworthy attraction of the Festival Pop Up! Painted fishing boats, videoart installations, Mediterranean rhythm played live, popular and avant garde music, cohabit with the genuine and tasty local sea food and Marche wines, creating a unique atmosphere. The Port of Ancona is opened to the public, to the city and its inhabitants, giving its best, its authenticity, made up of people, traditions, history, culture and art. This event is part of the initiative Open Ports.
